How It Works
A few people who hear from them, and who hear if something is wrong.
Their circle is the handful of people the family chooses: a daughter, a son, a neighbor two doors down. Each one confirms their own phone. Day to day they hear almost nothing. On the morning there is no reply, they are the ones who are told.

Who can be in it
One main contact
The person who set it up, or whoever the family names. Their phone is the first one told when there is no reply, and the account pages are theirs.
Up to three more
Children, a neighbor, a friend, in the order the family chooses. Four people in all. Each gets Sunday's email, and each is a step on the morning nobody hears back.
Every phone confirmed first
A number counts only once its owner has confirmed it: members by a code sent to their phone, the person themselves by tapping a link. An unconfirmed number is skipped, and the family can see that.

The person themselves
One text each morning, one question about their life, and nothing else. No app, no login, no idea of the machinery behind it.
The main contact
Their reply each morning, as written. Sunday's email. A message on a morning with no reply, and the account pages to change the time, the people, and the questions.
Everyone else
Sunday's email with the week's answers. A message only when the main contact has not responded to a morning with no reply.
Adding someone
Add a name and a number
On the account pages, in a minute. Names are used as written: the person hears "Sarah", never "your contact".
They get a text with a code
They read it back to you, or enter it themselves later. Nothing is sent to them until the code is confirmed.
That is the whole setup
No app for them, no account, nothing to install. They reply by text on the morning it matters.
Day to day, the circle hears almost nothing
Sunday evening
The week's answers, by email, to everyone. That is the one message a normal week brings.
A morning with no reply
The main contact after two hours, the next person after three, in plain words with the time and what to do.
A reply that needs attention
If a reply mentions a fall or chest pain, the main contact gets their exact words straight away. Nothing is graded; a person decides.
When something is wrong
The message says who, when, and what to do, in plain words and the same shape every time:
- Whoever reaches them first replies CHECKED IN, and the sequence stops for everyone. The others are told it is handled, and by whom.
- If the person replies in the meantime, everyone who was told gets their words at once, so nobody gets in the car for nothing.
- Anything written after CHECKED IN ("at the dentist all morning") is kept with that day.
- A morning nobody resolves by midnight is recorded as unresolved and shown in Sunday's summary.
Privacy inside the circle
What they control
They can stop everything with one word, STOP, at any moment. The main contact is told, and START brings it back. They are never asked to explain.
What the circle sees
Their replies and their answers, as written, and the record of each week. That is all there is to see.
What nobody sees
No location, no scores, no patterns, no inference about how they are doing. Nothing is sold and nothing is shared outside the circle.
